I've had the passion of being a filmmaker since I was four years old I grew up with the mindsets of Jim Henson and Adam Sandler, films like Big Daddy and Dark Crystal or even Labyrinth were keystone films I'd watch growing up.
Most films I make are mostly about the death of something, a friendship, someone's actual life, an idea, or a religion. I make stories about death because it's the most fun to play with fantasy wise. I tend to like to create escapist experimental projects.
I've met Kevin Smith at the 25th Split Screen Anniversary that plays on Criterion Channel, you can actually see me at the end of the cut meeting him, as he told me to make a movie, which began my journey to direct my own shorts off my own money.
Films that I refer to when making movies are The Good The Bad and The Ugly (1966), Kuroneko (1968) , Seconds (1966), Police Story (1985), Clerks (1994), Chasing Amy (1997), Throne of Blood (1957), The Wicker Man (1973), Kwaidan (1965), M (1931), Eraserhead (1977), Pink Flamingos (1972), Lamb (2021), The Dark Crystal (1982), Godzilla (1954) and Uncut Gems (2019).
My biggest influences in my work are Kevin Smith, Jim Henson, David Lynch, Akira Kurosawa and Sergio Leone, with a hint of Agnes Varda in there.
My favorite positions in filmmaking are Editor and Sound Operator/Mixer mainly because its the final steps where you see everything come together.
I come from a Music background from being in Men's Choir to Select Vocal Ensemble in High School (also in the Musicals and Plays) to my father who as a teen had his own band. Working with my dad on music helped me define my rhythm skills that I would use as an editor.
As well as films and music, I am also a huge sports nerd. I grew up a huge baseball fan as a kid but left little league at 13, I played Right Field for 8 amazing years and had idols such as Nick Swisher, Jorge Posada, Mariona Rivera and Derek Jeter. I then did Flag Football (because I';m injury prone) and was a pass rusher (oddly enough) and a Center/Tight End because of my lackluster speed but amazing catching ability. My influences on Football were players such as Darrelle Revis, Santonio Holmes, Hakeem Nicks, Antiono Gates to name a few. I'm also a huge basketball fan both Men's and Women's. My favorite teams are either the Boston Celtics (because of the color Green but also their team spirit) and the New York Liberty mostly because It's my New York team to root for in basketball but also because of the amazing history behind this team and their future.
My favorite song is Daydream by Wallace Collection (as well as Daydreamin' by Lupe Fiasco, and Swan Lake No.9) the reason because of it's repetitional lyrics and sound that creates this brainwashing affect, which also inspired me to write my second feature film soon to come in the near future.
While a lover of any animals, my favorite is a Dog for their joyful energy.
I've been attending Tribeca Film Festival (Minus two COVID years) since 14 and have been going ever since, hoping to show one of my films there in the near future.
I'm a huge fan of Dark Material, such as Grimm Fairytales, Greek Mythology and Tolkien Stories.
