My name is Matteo Cianci, born in 1990. I spent my childhood in Milan, my adolescence on the Adriatic Sea in the Marche region and became an adult in Rome. I approached art through theatre, my first great love. My artistic training, in fact, started here. The most important experience was certainly with Maestro Antonello Avallone, with whom I participated as actor and assistant director in 10 plays for over 150 performances. As for cinema, I have worked on eight short films as an actor (two of which won multiple awards and were screened at “Giornata degli autori” during the 76th Venice Film Festival and at the Rome Film Festival in the “Alice nella città” event). At the same time, I studied the basic techniques of film writing at the Holden school with Andrea Jublin, refining them with Cristina Borsatti at the Sentieri Selvaggi film school in Rome. I have written several screenplays for short films, one of which, "Il gol della bandiera", was selected at the Vertigo Film Festival. I wrote and directed two short films. "Contactless", my first work, recently finished its festival run, obtaining, among other awards, a selection at the "Tulipani di seta Neri" Festival organised by RAI and the prize for "best emerging artist" at the Mare festival Premio Troisi in Salina. The second short film, “On the Same Side”, is about to start its festival route, and will be handled by the distribution company “Cattive Produzioni”.
