Matt Guerin is a Toronto-based writer, filmmaker, editor, media librarian, and political commentator.
His film credits include writing, producing, directing, and film editing two narrative short films, including 'The Big Snore,' to be released in 2020, as well as 'Tri-Curious,' which was released in 2016.
In 2015, Guerin wrote and edited the YouTube viral parody hit 'Hitler Reacts to Alberta NDP Majority Election'. Other credits include Associate Producer on two of director Leon Le's short films, 'Talking to my Mother,' in 2014, and 'Dawn,' in 2012.
In 2009, Guerin co-wrote and co-produced the award-winning short film 'The Golden Pin,' by director Cuong Ngo, which won Best Canadian Short at the Toronto Inside Out LGBT Film Festival. It screened at over 40 international film festivals and then found an audience of 3.5 million (and counting) on YouTube. Guerin also worked as Associate Producer and Additional Writer on Ngo's feature debut, 'Pearls of the Far East' (2011.)
In addition to film work, Guerin works in media management at CBC, with credits on 'The Fifth Estate' and 'Marketplace' since 2016. He has blogged about politics, arts, and current affairs at 'Queer-liberal' since 2007: queer-liberal.blogspot.ca
