The incredible love story, through the prism of the confrontation of two families. This film tells as about the way of life of the unique Gagauzian culture at the turn of 1920-1930. The story begin its way in year 1920. The main character Dmitri makes an unsuccessful attempt to kill a rich tradesman - boyar Sturza. A passerby Lambu saves boyar's life. Frightened, Dmitri runs away. After 10 years, the son of Lambu drove past the village where Dmitri lived and accidentally met his daughter Nida. Having no idea whose daughter she was, he immediately fell in love. When Lambu comes to Dmitri for matchmaking, they recognized each other. Lambu tells Dmitri that boyar survived. Dmitri's daughter Nida does not love Lamb's son. She loves a poor shepherd - Yani. Lambu threatens Dmitri to ruin his life and bring him to justice. Fearing for his family, Dmitri agrees to pass off his daughter for his son Lamb. The wedding is in full swing, but Nida runs off with her lover Yani. During the chase by Dmitri's fellows they both die. Love will win.

Director Biography

Ivan Lambu was born on May 17, 1988 in Moldova, in the ATU Gagauzia. In 2010 he entered the Academy of Theater and Cinema in St. Petersburg. In 2014 finishes training. For a long time he worked on the set as an actor and assistant director. In 2016, he comes from Russia to Moldova and shoots his first feature film, Matchmaking. Filming ends in 2019.
