Masked and Breathless

An accomplished emergency surgeon is about to face destiny. The guilty, grief-ridden man has secretive aspects of his life that nobody knows of and he realizes he doesn’t have much left to live. Tonight is the last night where he has to offload all the weight he has been carrying if he is to die feeling free. He has to make a call if he will or not. This is a silent film (MOS) set during the pandemic.

Director Biography - Neha Lohia

I am a multi-passionate creator, storyteller at heart, and filmmaker by profession. I see myself as a student of life. I Write, Direct, Produce and Film original content, short films, web series, features, advertising, branded content, and social content, almost anything that’s creatively calling. My fav genres are all things that are spiritually nourishing, healing, Women oriented subjects, fashion, lifestyle anything except horror, politics, and crime, those are not my type sorry...
I have recently worked on 3 short films, 1 documentary, 1 web show pilot, and 1 musical which are in various stages of completion. I am currently in the final post-production stages of 1 short biopic film which is a proof of concept for a feature.

Director Statement

Masked and Breathless was my first attempt at a silent (MOS) film, this was filmed during the thick of pandemic times in India and it was truly very challenging at all levels to manage to make this film. It is also coming from several personal experiences mixed in and also of having survived a lung disease myself. Lousie Hay and one of her books "the essential Lousie Hay collection" was what I was reading in those painful times whenever I could gather the strength to do any activity. I have used her message in this film as a seed to all who can see through it.
