Mars

Packed my bags zipped up my space suit, time to board again
Haven’t left this dessert planet since I don’t know when
Plant my feet in thick red dust, gorges to my right
City lights shine to my left they seemed to crop up overnight

Anthony please pray for me - ‘Cause I feel like a lost thing
Ain’t got fear my answer’s here, and it’s got metal wings
I will fly past mountains eye to eye with stars
In the thickened glass I’m looking
Far... this ain’t Mars

I won’t miss the water shipments, 3 month time delay
Seems like this outpost siphons all the earth away
Here you’re lifted off your feet, thank lower gravity
Eyes of earth are on us, so why’s there depravity

Anthony please pray for me - ‘Cause I feel like a lost thing
Ain’t got fear my answer’s here, and it’s got metal wings
I will fly past mountains eye to eye with stars
In the thickened glass I’m looking
Far... this ain’t Mars

They say it’s a new frontier
Would they know if they were here?
“Sure it is!” Martians will say is
that ‘cause they’re programmed that way?

Anthony please pray for me - ‘Cause I feel like a lost thing
Ain’t got fear my answer’s here, and it’s got metal wings
I will fly past mountains eye to eye with stars
In the thickened glass I’m looking
Far... this ain’t Mars
