Marneen Fields Stunt-Actress/Stunt-Woman Show Reel

Enjoy the talents of SAG actress, stunt-actress, and ex-Hollywood stuntwoman Marneen Fields that are showcased in this performance reel and package that was presented to the Action of Film Festival this week for consideration for a Legendary Stunt Award. The reel showcases two minutes of some of her great versatility and death-defying feats on prime-time TV shows and major feature films she performed during the height of her stunt career. These amazing DVD clips show her in action alongside A-List celebrities and directors like Clint Eastwood, Irwin Allen, James Garner, Patrick Duffy, Linda Carter, Robert Englund, Bruce Boxleitner, and Fred MacMurray in films like "The Gauntlet," "The Swarm," and "Nightmare on Elm St. Part 2 Freddy's Revenge," and TV shows like "The Rockford Files," "The Man From Atlantis," "Wonder Woman," "Battlestar Galactica," and "Scarecrow and Mrs. King." Wikipedia lists Marneen Fields as one of the prominent stuntwomen of the 1970s and 1980s, and IMDB lists her as one of the Stunning Stuntwomen of Hollywood. You can certainly see why when you view this showreel. In the mid-1980s Marneen received a big honor when she was coined Hollywood's Original Fall Girl and awarded a Fall Girl license plate by famous stunt coordinator, J.P. Bill Catching and the Stuntman's Association, the first and only of it's kind ever awarded.

Flashback to 1973, Marneen Fields was one of only three women in the United States to receive a full-ride athletic scholarship in gymnastics at Utah State because they didn't give scholarships to women in gymnastics back then. From 1973 to 1976 she was the number one Class One advanced all-around gymnast competing for Utah State ranked third in intercollegiate competition on floor exercise and fifth on the balance beam. Her gymnastics talents were discovered by Hollywood in 1976 by legendary stuntman Paul Stader, and she trained at his famous stunt school to become a Hollywood stuntwoman. Then again in 1979, her acting talent was discovered by actor-director Victor French, son-in-law of the great Lee J. Cobb, and co-star on two Emmy winning TV series with Michael Landon, "Little House on the Prairie," and "Highway to Heaven." Marneen saw her dreams of transforming herself from stunt girl into a famous actress (a goal she had since minoring in Theater Arts at USU) take shape as she was cast in lead roles in theatrical productions, co-star roles in some films, and guest star roles on popular TV shows. It looked like Marneen was on the brink of success as an actress in the late 1980s when a tragic twist of fate involving a near-fatal car accident and a series of life-threatening abdominal operations sidelined her career for just over a decade.

In 2002 Marneen bounced backed with the determination and resilience that has defined her life opening her award-winning Heavenly Waterfall Song Publishing and Productions Company. She had once again transformed herself, this time into her childhood dream of becoming a famous singer-songwriter. Today she's an award-winning pop-rock singer, ASCAP composer, and scriptwriter while continuing to act as a SAG actress for the past forty-one years. 2018 will see two books published about Marneen Lynne Fields amazing life, "Cartwheels & Halos: The True Marneen Lynne Fields Story, and "Rollin' with the Punches: An Examination of the Stunt and Acting Careers of Marneen Fields."

Director Statement

Dear AoF,

I'd like to recommend Marneen Lynne Fields for a Legendary Stunt Award. She has been doing stunts in Hollywood for years and is a consummate professional.

I met Marneen on the Ultra Low Budget film Off Hollywood in which we had to figure out a complex fight scene in very cramped quarters (a storage UNIT!). I was dressed in a foam rubber cell phone costume. I am an actor and had never done a fight scene or stunts and was told by the director to just "play it real." Heavens, I had NO IDEA that these things had to be choreographed, rehearsed, and shot with extreme care. Marneen knew, and she took me under her wing and made sure we did it with ease and grace.

In a complicated situation, Marneen, handled it with precision, tact and 100% professionalism. She saved the day in what could have resulted in severe injuries for me.

I highly recommend Marneen Lynne Fields for the honor.
