Marked.

What do boundaries mean when life is not set in stone? At the intersection of freedom and memory, two marked bodies are walking “like thieves” through the lines imposed by society. This film is an embodied journey of life in between, or at the edge.

Director Biography - Yoline Suzanne Trieneke Bourdon, Chang-yung Choi, Konstantinos Giatras

Yoline Bourdon is a graduate student of Sociology and Social Anthropology at Central European University. Her interest lies in memory and narratives of crisis, and sensory experiences of urban spaces. She uses visual anthropology to convey experiences to the audience that can not be transcribed in words. She is currently preparing her master thesis on contested notions of Frenchness through the hip hop scene in the urban space of Marseille and its banlieues.

Changhyun Choi is an activist, anthropologist, and documentary filmmaker based in South Korea. He is fascinated with exploring the problematic border between normality and abnormality, and the transformative power that arises when it is believed that an insurmountable boundary can be overcome. Choi aims to utilize the camera as a tool not only for documentation but also as a catalyst to promote this power.

Konstantinos Giatras is an undergraduate student at the University of Macedonia, in Balkan, Slavic, and Oriental Studies. Throughout his academic path, he has demonstrated a deep passion for social and visual anthropology. His commitment to both filmmaking practices and his field of studies has driven his participation in producing two short ethnographic documentaries on migration and queer issues.
