Mark is an Emmy Award winning wildlife cameraman, predominantly underwater, for the past 26yrs. He has worked in some of the most incredible locations such as Micronesia, Indonesia, Southern Africa, the Canary Islands and currently the islands of Okinawa in southern Japan.
While mainly seeking out natural history challenges within filmmaking he also continues to investigate the word of low budget short film production as well as screenwriting. Mark has also just accomplished one of his life goals by completing a feature film screenplay that seems to be fitting in the current moment. 'Natural Selection' deals with Eco-Terrorism and the warped mind of a protagonist looking to defend the natural planet against those he deems as committing crimes against nature.
Continuing through imaging Mark takes great comfort and a sense of accomplishment with any project that reaches completion. It tells a story not just for the project itself but in the pathway of his evolution as a creative entity.
In his role as an underwater cameraman he also filmed and produced short films that won accolade at some of the most prestigious underwater film festivals on Earth. Notably his short film entitled 'Majesty of Muck' won the Prix du Public at the 28th World Festival of Underwater Films in Antibes, France in 2008. This short film delved into the weird and wonderful world of the unique macro critters found in the shallow water regions of the Lembeh Straits in Northern Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Mark continues to look for unique subjects for his natural history endeavors. Looking to do things that nobody else has thus far accomplished. To do something special, to stand out these days his sentiment is that one has to push beyond all barriers to bring new concepts to life from angles we seldom see.
