Marie Grillo is an actor, screenwriter, filmmaker who was born and raised in Astoria, Queens. She received her B. A. in Drama Studies and Literature at Purchase College and a Master's in Early Childhood Education from Touro College.
Marie Grillo wrote, directed and produced her original musical about the life of Joseph Pilates too sold out audiences in New York City, The Manhattan Theatre Club, La Mamma and the Collective Unconscious in 2007.
Marie plays drums and sings in rock bands. She has written and self-published an ebook called Sad Girls Guide to Fitness.
She fell in love with film, working as a background actor on the many television shows filming around the City and has completed 5 short films.
Her short Elizabeth in the Park was shown as part of the New York Short Film Festival in 2018 and The Seattle Transmedia Festival in 2019. Currently she has completed 2 feature length screenplays and is working on the third.
