Experiencing Interruptions?

Marianna's dive

Marianna is 14 years old and she has just lost her love. Shattered by an endless sadness, the kid is roaming the streets of a grey and autumnal Palermo. Meanwhile, an elusive figure is walking through the same streets, someone who seems to be interested in everything that people ignore. Can an unexpected meeting, between dream and reality, help Marianna find some trust in life again?

ITA

ENG
“Marianna’s dive” is my second encounter with the world of animation. If with “Night shift”, my first short film, I had begun to take the first steps inside the animation technique, with “Marianna” I tried to put to good use all the gained experience by enlarging the narrative plot and going on with the portrayal of Palermo, my hometown, under an original point of view and far from any stereotype.

After the film noir-like city, seen in the previous short, with “Marianna’s dive” I intended to display a sorrowful and autumnal Palermo, taking the cue from Wim Wenders’ works linked to U2 music such as “Wings of Desire” and the videoclip for the song “Stay”, re-elaborating all these suggestions within a personal setting.
