Marhanets International Short Film Festival is the very first film festival created in a small mining city Marhanets which aims to bring film culture to the city and inspire and motivate filmmaking in the region. Best narrative, documentary, animation short films from Ukraine and all over the world will be showcased in the city's Culture Palace. Professional jury from the region as well as audience will be the ones to judge the films and decide who is the winner.

We are searching for films that can motivate, inspire, develop both the viewers and the professionals. Be the first one to experience a wondeful opportunity and atmosphere of developing the film culture in the region.

Submission

The submission is to start on July 3th 2017 and finish on April 1th, 2018. The director’s of the accepted films will be notified of the selection April 23th 2017. The festival will take place on May 5-6th 2018.

Festival events

The festival will take place on May 5-6th offering worshops in scripwriting, directing and camera work and post-production. Later on all the interested filmmakers are welcome to participate in Speeddating with professionals from the region.

Jury

Your film is going to be judged by 8 professional juries who work in film, television, culture. the selection committee of 8 journalists, directors, film critics and writers will pre-select 15 films which will be in competition and will be screened during the festival and eligible for festival awards.

International and national film submission is open till April 1th, 2018.
Films of various genres and themes are accepted.
Competition is open to International narrative and animated short films.
Filmmakers are welcome to submit only through FilmFreeway.com.
Films must be completed after 1 January, 2015.
The maximum running time is 30 minutes.
Films not in English must be subtitled in English and the dialogue list must be provided after the acceptance.
Films that have broadcast on television or internet prior to the Festival are not eligible for consideration.
Entries must be submitted for pre-screening on Vimeo or YouTube link. If you use a secured link, you are REQUIRED to keep us updated with passwords or your film may be rejected.
There is an entry fee for submission for international films. There is no entry fee for Ukrainian films.
