Maram Elnagheeb is a filmmaker focused on themes of mental health, familial relationships, work and power dynamics, and assimilation into societal norms. She graduated from Duke University where she studied social policy, cinematic arts, and entrepreneurship. While a student, she took classes and completed a variety of short video productions, wrote screenplays, narratives, op-eds, and profiles, and was a production assistant for films and music videos.
With A Day for Lila, Elnagheeb is making her directorial debut with this personal project that she wrote, produced, and acted in as well. She looks forward to continuing making interesting films and working with a variety of collaborators who have unique styles and similar theme interests.
