Documentary short film about weirdest legends from Northern Russia villages and forests. Journey to ethnics and folklore of Komi people. Feel the energy of sacred Parma forest. We made expedition to 8 distant villages and collected this stories by local people.
Film is availible with Russian language voiceover and with Komi language voiceover. Both versions have English and Russian hard subtitles (separately or dual-language subtitles).

Nikita Belorusov was borned in 1994 in Syktyvkar (North of Russia). He studied at the High School of Arts of the Komi Republic in the theater faculty, then he moved to Moscow and finished Moscow State Institute of Culture, speciality - Directing cinema/tv. Now working in Polenov State House of Folk Arts and making his own documentary and fiction films.
Until Komi Republic was not christianizated, for thousands of years, sacred Parma forest was one and only God in Komi people's life. People were afraid of and respected the sacred forest. Forest gave them food and fur, but sometimes taking their lives. Echoes of beliefs of Komi people and their veneration of nature you can see in our expedition film about legends, myths and stories of Komi villages. We tried to bring an old and untold stories to screen in modern style.
