Mangroves of Raja Ampat
Raja Ampat holds some of the best diving in the world and is also home to Yangefo or Tanjung Putus as the locals call it.
A fantastic island filled with mangroves and an abundance of life amongst the roots. The trees, birds, and reefs. Simply a must-visit when in the area!

My name is Matthias Edling and I am a Swedish photographer and filmmaker, focusing on marine and wildlife conservation and awareness in SE Asia.
As a self-taught Photographer / Videographer I started Eye of Nature with the sole purpose of showing people animals, creatures, critters, and everything in between from all over the world. Especially show them up close since most people did not even know that they existed or what they were, and if they are in danger of being extinct or not. By posting my experience and everything that I get to see, I hope to spread awareness of the many dangerous side effects that we humans have on our planet and especially our oceans.
While previously working for some of the best liveaboards in Indonesia. I found myself lucky enough to be in the most biodiverse place on earth, right in the middle of the coral triangle. After spending some time in such places as Raja Ampat and Komodo National Park, I got to see what a reef is supposed to look like and how quickly it can decline because of human interaction.
I noticed how much of a difference I could make by spreading and documenting the news. Simple things about how to best protect our oceans and everything that calls it home by doing small things straight from the comfort of your own home.
