Mangi Meli Remains
In Old Moshi, Tanzania, a head is missing. The head is of Chief Meli who fought the German colonial occupation of territory in Kilimanjaro and was executed as a result in 1900. His head is said to have been shipped to Germany at the request of scientists. Until today, Chief Meli's grandson is waiting for it to return.

Konradin Kunze is a director, actor and writer for theatre and film. He has a passion for animation and regularly collaborates in international projects with FLINN WORKS. He lives with his family in Berlin.
Mangi Meli Remains is the result of an intensive research and a wonderful collaboration of a Tanzanian-German-British-Canadian team. Originally made for a video sculpture for an exhibition about Mangi Meli, it has been turned in a short film.
