We are a student run organisation that is aimed at showcasing student films made by students based across the North of England. The festival is a platform for young and aspiring creatives to promote their films to the public and for them to gain insight and connections within the industry.
The festival will take place over two days in early June. The first day will consist of short films of factual content, such as biopics and documentaries. The second day will focus on fictional content, from drama to comedy. We will have the pleasure of hosting a number of influential professionals from within the documentary and film-making industry to give a speech and top tips on how to make it in the world of media.

In order to avoid a competitive atmosphere among the student filmmakers, and instead to cultivate networking and a community in the North, we don't hand out any prizes - but all the films will receive critical feedback from industry professionals on the day.

In order to enter your film must have been made when you attended a University or Film School based in the North of England - or if you are under the age of 25 and from the North of England.

As MSFF is run by volunteers, we ask for a small submission fee to help with our venue hire and to keep this project running through the years.
