Making Jump Rings from An Ingot

This is how I make jump rings from an ingot that I cast from recycled precious metal. In this case, it’s sterling silver. I use this way to make thick jump rings and when I need no more than 10 of that size.

Director Biography - Huiyi Tan-Platt

I’m Huiyi (it’s pronounced HwayYee). I first started making jewellery in 2003 and have been making jewellery at my studio in Cornwall, UK since 2010. I combine both traditional methods and modern technology to create the jewellery I want to wear myself and share them on my website.

I’m internationally qualified with the following professional boards:
GIA Graduate Gemmologist (US);
GIA Accredited jewellery Professional (US);
Professional Optical Diamond Setter (Belgium);
MA in jewellery Design (UK);
GIA Graduate Pearls (US).

When I’m not working on my benches, I look after my 2 Indian runner ducks and enjoy propagating both indoor and outdoor plants. I love books and enjoy travelling.
