Maia Weatherstone is a 17-year-old student in her final year of high school in Brisbane, Australia. She has demonstrated a keen passion for filmmaking and photography since first picking up a camera at the age of 13 and is inspired to tell meaningful stories which she finds from the world around her. Maia is also interested in social justice and making positive change, which she strives to do through the emotional and impactful nature of the stories she tells to provide a perspective or commentary through her art. Maia aspires to continue making films in university and beyond, with a focus in growing her knowledge and abilities, experiencing new things, and meeting like-minded people.
