Madison Cavalchire is a North Carolina-based documentary filmmaker focused on telling stories in the American South. A former journalist, Madison strives to create character-driven work that promotes understanding among neighbors, finds resolution to community issues, and even brings victims long-awaited justice. While she loves collaborating with other Artists, Madison primarily produces, shoots, and edits the projects she directs.
Madison recently graduated from Duke University’s Master of Fine Arts in Experimental and Documentary Arts Program in May 2023, where she focused on documentary filmmaking and cinematography.
Before starting her graduate studies in 2021, Madison was the Morning Reporter at Spectrum News 1 North Carolina and taught video storytelling and web design at her alma mater, UNC-Chapel Hill’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media.
