Macbetto (Napoletan Macbeth)
Like it is common for Camorra and Mafia to use a second identity and a nickame, Macbetto puts on his cold, angry mask to hide and protect his soft sensibility.
In a world where the fastest way to gain power is to be ruthless Macbetto decides to become a tough, evil looking person who wants to gain power by doing bad things to others.
But every deed he does has a positive impact to his victims and suddenly love appears in his life.
Will his anger be strong enough to resist?

Otwin Biernat was born in Graz, Austria as the second son of the Biernat/Schwarzenegger family. Unlike his famous relative Arnold, Otwin chose a different path within the film industry. He started his foray into theatre and film in Vienna in 2001, where he developed his skills as an all-round artist. Through various national theatre pieces, he evolved from actor, to assistant director, and ultimately director. In 2009, Otwin moved to Berlin to expand his horizons. He joined the Berlin film circle, and in a spur of curiosity, started experimenting with cameras, leading him to discover his true passion - filmography. In 2011, "Codewort Mr. Bean" which he co-directed, acted in, and produced was selected for the Berlinale International Film Festival. The film garnered 3rd place for "Best Camera" in the 99 Fire Films Awards category. Seeking international experience, Otwin moved to the Middle East in late 2011, where he worked for one of the world biggest TV channels, Aljazeera English. However, the call of filmography and art was too strong, and in 2014, Otwin made his way back to Europe. He then co-produced the movie "Homesick" which had its world premiere at the Berlinale International Film Festival in 2015. Capping off his experience in film and acting over the years, and as a debut to a career in directing, Otwin completed his first feature film "Point of View - Im Auge des Betrachters" in 2017. This movie, was screened and awarded at many festivals around the world. It bears Otwin's filmographic identity. Otwin fuses film, satirical theatre, music, painting and drawing, with unconventional story lines and cinematic techniques, creating a holistic art form that captivates and surprises viewers through engaging points of views. He recently shot a film together with Apuglia Film Comission, the Academia die Belle Arti (Foggia) and Paolo Sassanelli as the lead actor.

Macbetto is not a remake of Shakespeare´s Macbeth it is rather a new interpretation of some of the themes (crime, love, violence and consequences, conflict between good and evil, trust and mistrust) that are always very up to date.
Especially for Naples this topics are very important because most people who think of Naples think of Camorra and Pizza.
We also called this film Macbetto because the members of Camorra use second identities with certain nicknames when they operate and our protagonist chose the name Macbeth who is one of the most famous villain in history.
With this film we want to work out this problems of identity and the struggle of becoming a criminal but we especially want to show the real soul of Naples which is love and passion that can erupt like a volcano and therefore create negative but also very positive things
Our film shall be a homage to history of art in general that proofs how positive things can grow out of something negative.
