Maarten noticed the importance of capturing images with camera's while studying mechanical engineering from 2006 till 2010. He found camera's to be extremely powerful documentation devices and Maarten enjoyed using them to capture instances of his life.

The passion for film making grew simultaneously with his interest in technology. But after 7 years of working in the offshore engineering field, he made the decision to fully devote himself to film making.

While mostly working in the commercial / promotional content field, he also reserves time for personal projects and donates time and resources on a yearly basis to charity foundations that are making a positive impact.
