Manchester International Women's Film Festival has had a rebrand and will now b called Womxnchester International Film Festival, fitting right? We are a film festival celebrating women in front and behind camera. We are working in partnership with Cultureplex, Manchester, to bring you a jam packed day of films and events, in the heart of Manchester.
(You do not need to be a female filmmaker as a director or producer if your lead is a female. We do actively encourage that films, which are directed by men, should have a 50/50 gender split on crew too. We actively encourage all female identifying filmmakers to apply.)
The festival is run by High Peak Independent Film Festival's Nicole Pott and is brought to you with passion and excitement for celebrations of women! The festival will have a great lineup with talks from some fantastic organisations.
Taking place at Manchester's brand new venue, Cultureplex, in their 'mini cini', the festival will be in one place with easy access from Manchester's biggest train station, Piccadilly. On top of its cinema, Cultureplex also has a bar and restaurant, serving delicious food and drink all day.
Over the space of the day, we will screen FIVE programmes of short films, hold industry talks and workshops, have a great awards ceremony and have a brilliant afterparty until the early hours.
