MURURÉ'S FLOWER

“Mururé’s Flower”, is a short film of the group “Carimbó Cobra Venenosa”, from the State of Pará, in Amazon, Brazil. The movie is about the beauty and the power of feminility of the Amazon. The plot shows a fictional violence episode performed by Gabriela Luz, who is an actress and travestity and with her acting role, she could do her first work after her gender transition. We can see in the film the afrofuturism of the Amazon, fictional, surrealistic and documentary elements. It is a meeting between trans and cis women singing, together, against the chauvinism and crimes of transphobiha and feminicide. Housewives, kids, cis and trans men also participate to show that the fight for a less violent society is a flag that needs to be raised by everybody. The movie was recorded in a suburb in Belém, Pará, Brazil.

Director Biography - MARCOS CORRÊA AND PRISCILA DUQUE

Marcos Corrêa is from Belém of Pará, Brazil. He Has 15 years as producer audiovisual. In 2020, Marcos wrote, produced, recorded and e directed his first short filme: "2020 the wait ". Still in 2020, Marcos directed and wrote the short movie "Carimbó: Raiz da Vida" and was a winner of Prize Virtual Network of Art and Culture from the Secretary of Culture of Government of State of Pará, as a director of short film “Daughter of the fire and the wind” (Filha do Fogo e do Vento).

Priscila Duque – black and suburb woman, leader of the Group “Carimbó Cobra Venenosa”. Singer, composer, producer. Produced a documentary “Urban Masters of the Village of Icoaraci”. Wrote and directed the video performance “Turn de Corner” and is a writer, director and performer of the Video “Manifesto Marielle Vive”.
