The Mostra da Semana da Ficção Científica Brasileira 2026 (Brazilian Science Fiction Week Showcase 2026) presents a concise, vibrant, and up-to-date panorama of science fiction produced in Brazil during 2024 and 2025. Organized by RS Fantástico, the event brings together short and feature films that highlight the aesthetic and narrative diversity of the genre in Brazil and around the world, including speculative futures, emerging technologies, dystopias, regional imaginaries, and new audiovisual mythologies.

Held in December in celebration of Brazilian Science Fiction Day (December 11), the showcase reaffirms its commitment to valuing creators, strengthening the fantastic-genre ecosystem, and giving visibility to the growing science fiction production in Rio Grande do Sul. All screenings — free and open to the public — take place in cultural venues across Porto Alegre, bringing audiences, artists, and researchers closer to the landscape of Brazilian fantastic cinema.

The 2026 edition awaits your submission. For Brazilian films, registration is free.
