"MOVING MUSIC - A Cross-Cultural Collaboration across Ten Movements"

"MOVING MUSIC" is a short film consisting of ten short and stylistically varied musical miniatures composed and produced by Brian Ledwidge Flynn, independently interpreted by a diverse group of Dancers & Choreographers from a multitude of different countries and cultures including CANADA, GERMANY, GREECE, ITALY, NIGERIA, POLAND, PORTUGAL, SOUTH AFRICA, SOUTH KOREA, TAIWAN, UGANDA and the USA.
The collaborating choreographers and dancers were given free reign in their interpretation of the pieces, including which of the untitled movement(s) they chose from the pool of musical miniatures with no communication with the other dancers or choreographers.
The film, produced by MAGNETIC STATE FILMS and edited by Brian Ledwidge Flynn and Nick Gravakis combines multiple interpretations of the same movements by different dancers/choreographers in order to reveal the unconscious synchronicities that occur between the different kinetic artists. The many resulting instances wherein the actions of the dancers appear to interact with one another may suggest an underlying unity of human perspective that transcends differences in technique, study, culture and personality.
