Director Biography - Dinkar Sharma

Dinkar Sharma is a freelance writer-director. He studied screenwriting at India's prestigious film school named Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. His first feature film, as a writer, was released in India in 2012 (IMDB Link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2306721/).

Formerly, he worked with Whistling Woods International as a faculty for Screenwriting. He's a guest script-mentor at FTII and WWI, and guest faculty for recently started FTII short-term script writing courses. He's also currently associated with the Screenwriters Association, Mumbai, as their Website Editor and Executive Coordinator. He also provides script-mentorship to film school students and script-consultancy for feature film projects.

Director Statement

MILF is a comic take on the Freudian theories of sexuality. It put forwards the idea that 'Men can't keep in control their subconscious lust', OR as it is presented in the piece itself - Man is a lecherous fool. The other dramatic theme of the story is character-revelation i.e. people are not what they seem or say they are. They can behave in an unexpected way when put in a situation. Friendship, changing lifestyles of the younger generation, global influence of American pop culture etc. are sub-themes in this short film.
