MICUŁA - City that start with W
The sketches and memories of MICUŁA’s love and hate relationship with Wroclaw (Poland) and a new romance with her mistress Warsaw (Poland) are coexisting within this song. Everyone has a city like this which does not necessarily start with W. Based on the collectiveness of this experience Katarzyna Borelowska wrote and directed a video about a dance therapy class. A universal story about looking for your own place, bouncing off the wall and measuring with reality, for which we sometimes place too much hope, not realizing that the environment is not conducive.“I crumble around you, so hold me tight” (“Przy Tobie się kruszę, więc mocno mnie tul”).
We are all strangers wherever we are. And many can identify with this story. It was performed by the artists related to Warsaw. Krzysztof Lubka is responsible for the choreography, and since July 2020 he has been dancing his performance "I'm queer and for far too long I lived in fear" in the center of a city. The first Drag King in Polish pop plays the role of the therapist: Maryjan Bear from Drag King SharmTRIO. Kiss me in the soul city that starts with W (“Pocałuj mnie w duszę miasto na W”). Kiss all of us and let us live and express ourselves the way we want to.
