Director Biography - Oleg Gennadievitch Stetsenko

Oleg Stetsenko was born in 2002 in Ukrainian capital Kiev. At the age of 14 he and his buddy founded a clothing brand named "GRUNGE". For his brand Oleg drew not only prints, but also short cheesy animations to use them as promotional videos on Instagram. At the age of 16 he moved to Germany with his mother. Oleg really liked the previous experience of transferring his own vision to the world using animation, also he had no desire to interact with the new environment. Because of that Oleg spends most of his time at home making new cartoons. As a result, he unconsciously enters the path of a director.

MC Petya is a well-known meme in Ukraine. He is a simple man from an ukrainian back of beyond, who found his passion in rapping. His message includes healthy lifestyle, sport and anti-drug campaign. The majority sees him as a freak, but in spite of that, because of his charisma, naivety and realness, he became very clouted.
I noticed that teens from Kiev’s underground scene are big fans of MC Petya. His statements have even become part of the youth’s slang, though youth has nothing in common with his message.
They just have fun drinking or taking drugs to the music about healthy life and sport. It creates an irony that makes the process cooler. So I, one of those kids, known as an artist from the underground scene, wanted to make something new and unexpected. The idea was to take the meme seriously and to increase the irony to the maximum, to make the border between seriousness and non-seriousness of his persona disappear. To call into question, whether MC Petya is just an object of ridicule, or is he already a part of the culture, the cool one. And if he is a part of the culture, is this all about alcohol and drugs, or is the healthy lifestyle also cool?
