My name is Roy Hyglesias Petit-frere. I am currently working on a Bachelor's degree in Film & Media studies at the University of California, University.
This film was inspired by my own struggle to find records on my family. Even though my family and I were born and raised in Haiti before immigrating to the United States. We were still not knowledgeable of our family tree line. I can empathize with my protagonist, Marie, to connect with other family members.
