MBULAND

No one is safe when Masta—a ruthless female queen mosquito and her general Penni, relish spreading malaria and sucking human blood, in disorganized village. But there is a glimpse of hope, through a superhuman 10-year-old boy, who can communicate with animals and mosquitoes. Heri takes the fights to the swamps and ponds, but he finds out that, it will take more than, his supernatural power to outsmart Masta’s devious plans and eliminate malaria.

Director Biography - Gwamaka Mwabuka, Alphonse Haule

Gwamaka is bachelors of science computer science graduate. He has been working as a creative producer and director for more than 5 years, creating films that inspire people to take positive action. As a producer and director working with Tai Studio team, he has produced over 15 animated short films and 21 documentary films targeting different social-economic issues and culture including Mbuland (A film that raised a Zero Malaria campaign, 2021 and was screened at Zanzibar International Film Festival and The British museum in London), A Thousand Needles (International Social Change Film Festival 2019), Violence Against Women (TGNP Mtandao 2019).
