(M)AMI

Born on the 29th of August 1990.

She studied Medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in Bucharest. After completing her residency in Medical Imaging, she left medical practice.

In the meantime she attended writing workshops and published short stories in “Revista de povestiri”. She also published a story in the first issue of “KIWI”, a collective volume of short stories.

She won the “Prima Carte” literary mentorship, financed by the Friends for Friends Foundation, where she wrote the first draft of her first novel, “Copiii Ecosistemului”. The book was published in November 2021 by Nemira Publishing House and was selected to enter the competition of “Le Festival du premier roman”, Chambéry, France.

She was invited to write a story for “Scena9” magazine, inside the editorial project “Writers and Animals”.

She completed her undergraduate studies of Screenwriting and Film Studies at the National University of Theatre and Film “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest. During the university years she wrote and co-wrote the scripts of numerous short films that were produced and shown in local student festivals (Sister, Doamna Ophelia, If you love me, Majorat, Mothers and Daughters &more).

She published film reviews and essays in local film magazines such as “Film Menu” and “Acoperișul de sticlă”.

She was one of the finalists of the HBO 2022 local screenwriting competition, “Write a Screenplay For”, with the feature project called “Nadă”.

At the end of 2022, she wrote and first-directed a short movie called (M)AMI. Directing was fun and challenging, so she’s bound to experience more.

For a brief time she worked as a copywriter at McCann Erickson Bucharest for clients as Dedeman, Coca-Cola, Mega Image, Nestle, UniCredit Bank, Vodafone.

At the moment she’s a freelance writer. She’s looking forward to making a career in screenwriting and directing.
