MALINALLI
Malinalli, after the death of her father, is taken as a slave to Mayan lands.
When the Spanish expedition led by Hernán Cortés obtains their first victory in indigenous
lands, 20 women are given to them, among whom Malinalli is.
Despite starting this new stage as the slave of one of the Spaniards, Puertocarrero, and thanks to her ease and knowledge of languages, she becomes Hernán’s translator, and it doesn’t take long to gain his trust in decision-making, for her bravery, intelligence and strong character.
Together, alongside 500 Spanish soldiers and more than 2,000 Totonac allies, they embark on an unpredictable journey to the heart of the Aztec empire, the city of Tenochtitlán, ruled by the mighty Moctezuma.
