Long time ago at Lensi village, it was a taboo to give birth to twins but unfortunately the queen gives birth to fraternal twins, a girl and a boy. The King refuses to kill the twins and drought hits the entire land for ten years as a punishment from the gods, he decides to hold a rain ritual ceremony in order to break that curse. The gods command him to separate the twins into different villages where they will become leaders, one village will be lead by a girl as a queen and another will be led by a boy as a king under one condition that.. The rain ritual ceremony must be performed every year at the same day in both villages and it is a taboo to give birth to a gender different from that of a leader.
One village is named Balensi where a boy is taken and another village is Abalensi where the girl is taken. So in Balensi village, it is a taboo to give birth to a girl on a rain ritual day and in Abalensi village it is a taboo to give birth to a boy on a rain ritual day otherwise, both a mother and a child must be killed or else it won’t rain for ten years in that village.
