Lydia Xourafi

Lydia Xourafi is a dance/performance artist and a social scientist. She was born in Lund, Sweden, and now is based in Athens, Greece. She has studied in Stockholm University of the Arts, CISPA.DK and Department of Theatre Studies – Athens University. She worked in Sweden as a performer and researcher of movement in performing arts (TeaterInterakt, Malmo Community Teater, CISPA, Project Otherness). She also holds a BA and MSc in social sciences and psychology (Deree American College of Greece, Lund University – Sweden) while she works as a somatic narrative therapist and mind body practitioner. In 2024 she founded Mind Body LAB. space in Chalandri, Attiki.

Her practice focuses on choreographic composition and embodied dramaturgy.

She is a performer and founding member of Tási Dance Collective since 2023 (Dance Days Chania, Bios Pireos84, Compartments Dance Festival – Roof, ADVP13/Promenade-Bageion, Zante Dance Festival). She creates performances and video dance artworks (The Sky has Not Fallen, Yet – Screendance Festival Stockholm, Dare Dance Fetsival, Kinships – Art4more festival, The Precariat - MEME gallery & PPLG, Us, Joints – TV Control Center). In 2020 she created the video dance "Adult Me" in collaboration with Riscus Theater Group, which won the award in the category "Best Digital Experience" Stockholm Fringe Festival 2022.
