Audrey finds herself the last person left awake in a London suffering a mysterious plague.
Shot in a single house at the height of lockdown during the Coronavirus Pandemic, Lullaby stars Daphne Alexander, with music by Richard G Mitchell. It was written and directed by James Phillips.

James is a writer and director.
His 4 part epic, Flood, was a centerpiece of the UK’s 2017 Capital of Culture, and comprised two live plays, a thirty minute film commissioned for BBC Television and a short film. Flood was voted by Guardian Newspaper Readers as one of the Top 10 UK shows of 2017, and Hull ’17 won The Stage’s Award for Producer of the Year, and it’s BBC 2 Drama won an RTS Award.
His new film, The Good Book, another collaboration with award winning Slung Low was released on May 1st to fantastic reviews.
His first play, The Rubenstein Kiss (which he also directed) won both the TMA Award for Best Play of the Year and the John Whiting Award. It has been revived many times, here and abroad.
His play City Stories had a Residency at St James Theatre, London from 2014-17. In May 2016 City Stories then transferred to 59East59 Theater in New York City, where it opened to terrific reviews in the New York Times and elsewhere.
His play McQueen: or Lee and Beauty, about Alexander McQueen, broke box office records at St James Theatre in London and then transferred to the West End.
His play Camelot: The Shining City- which was produced with a cast of 150- was named as one of the top 5 UK Theatre Shows of 2015 by The Guardian Newspaper and was produced by Slung Low and Sheffield Theatres. It is the story from which the film The Good Book springs.
The success of Hidden in the Sand- his play about Cypriot refugees which played at Trafalgar Studios in London in 2013- led to him being asked to give a lecture at the House of Parliament for the All Party Commission on Cyprus.
Whilst still a student his adaptation of Macbeth for four actors played to the Japanese Royal Family at the Globe Theatre in Tokyo.
His TV Drama If We Dead Awaken was made by Channel 4 in 2012 as part of the prestigious Coming Up Season.
He is under commission to write a new play for Chichester Festival Theatre, and has two feature films in development.
Alongside this he is Associate Artist of the Oxford Playhouse, an Associate of Wilton’s Music Hall and Director of NSDF.
His plays are published by Bloomsbury.
We made this for nothing whilst locked in a house during the worst weeks of the coronavirus pandemic in London.
Lullaby is about trying to find a solution when it seems like it's the end of the world and you don't know why.
We shot it with what we had, and it's deliberately simple and sparse and black and white. We wanted something dreaming and strange from the sixties, or if Peter Lindbergh picked up a motion picture camera.
It's adapted from a part of City Stories, a magic realist show of mine which we took with great critical success to New York and which Tony Visconti (legendary producer of David Bowie) kindly wrote:
“You MUST see this. You have never seen anything like it. It is life changing”.
