Luis Carlos de Alencar, a Brazilian documentary filmmaker who has been active since 1999, his work focuses on political processes and social movements, recording popular struggles and dissident thoughts. His works have participated in Brazilian and international festivals and exhibitions, receiving more than 20 awards, including Genocide and Movements (2021) - Best Feature Film from Bahia – Popular Jury – XVII Panorama Internacional Coisa de Cinema – Brazil; Invisible Men (2019), Best International Documentary Award - Trans Stellar Film Festival – USA, Best Direction Award - DIGO - International Film Festival of Sexual and Gender Diversity – Brazil; and Bombadeira (2007), Tribute of the National Network of Trans People in Brazil – REDETRANS: 10 Years of Bombadeira: for the contribution of the work to the transsexual community
