I was born on an army base outside El Paso, TX in 1970. We moved around a lot during my early years before settling in Minneapolis, MN when I was five.
I grew up there and attended the University of Minnesota, receiving a BA in International Relations. I'd planned on becoming a diplomat but decided I'd rather make movies.
I knocked around a lot in my 20s, living in Albuquerque, Mexico, Costa Rica and Chile.
I met my future wife in '98. We married and I followed her to the Eastern Caribbean (Grenada/Saint Vincent & the Grenadines), where she studied Medicine.
In 2004 we moved to NYC. I started working PA gigs. The highlights of this work included stints on The Sopranos, Nurse Jackie and the pilot for the series Castle.
In 2008 I got into The International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600). and worked AC gig for three years. Then in 2011 my wife got a job in Denver. We moved out to The Mile High City that summer and have been here ever since.
The industry here obviously isn't what it was in New York. There's far more crew than work, so I've transitioned to screenwriting.
I've completed three feature-length scripts and have started writing the fourth. I'm also working hard to find a management agency in LA that will take me on as a client.
Additionally, I've made a couple of short film, which have had some festival success. I plan on staying in the industry in some capacity forever.
We will never grow tired of great stories.
