In a cold and emotionally distant home, mentally abused girl is basing her truth on careless words said by her mother. She battles her ever-growing fear of God's punishment, and constantly tries to make up for her imaginary sins.

Director Biography - Milisavljević Olga

Olga Milisavljevic is a visual artist and film director from Serbia. She was born in 1995. She studied Digital Arts at Faculty of Media and Communication in Belgrade. At 20 years old she exhibited at 56th October Salon which was curated by David Elliot. She also exhibited in Art Gallery Nadezda Petrovic, and had few group and solo exhibitions of her photography works and space installations. Lucky Snails is her graduation movie and at the same time the first movie she wrote and directed. Lucky Snails was supported by Serbia Film Center.

Director Statement

Lucky Snails explores questions of silent mental abuse in family and the consequences it has on a young protagonist Nina, whose concepts of the world and self are just beginning to establish. She is starting to feel like a sinner. How can we live with our sense of guilt, when we feel that's all that we are? What is actually a sin?
What does it take to stop the circle of unconscious behavior? Does it have to hurt? Who is the one who can stop it?
