“Susannah Appleby is a visual artist based in Dublin. Their personal practice explores themes such as the body, gender, resistance and chronic pain. They are currently in 3rd year studying Photography and Visual Media at IADT.
Using digital and film photography as well as moving image, Susannah has developed an intimate and evocative style, honed professionally by capturing diverse and eclectic musicians, dancers and actors.
Working as a stylist and makeup artist has informed their visual repertoire, allowing the transfer of skills across multiple mediums such as fashion, beauty, fine art, portraiture, set design and art direction. Their experience on both sides of the camera shimmers into their stylised, bold, often confrontational yet beautiful aesthetic.” — Sallay Garnett
