Director Biography - Luk Ho Hai My

Based in Saigon. Graduated in Cinema and Theatre of Ho Chi Minh University in Film Directing in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

With a passion for cinema and a belief that cinema can be used to inspire audiences with stories that have been told and unknown. The same strength in aesthetics, color, lighting, and often using monologue, immersive feel will make the story reach the audience closer to the message in the film.

Director Statement

When life is more modern, people will be more lonely. That's what I'm seeing from young people in general. The theme of lonely people, not only comes from loneliness because there is no one around, but it seems that some people choose to be lonely in their own way.

With the desire to convey meaning through each frame, the audience can realize the superficiality, or the way of choosing to live alone with loneliness, that the emotion and the truth can be touched. So that life can become more positive and happy.

In my personal opinion, I feel that in Cinema and visual arts in general, the most important thing is to convey to the audience emotions. The feeling that the audience can be happy or sad, can empathize or pity, can recognize something, or is simply an emotion that remains in the viewer.

Love, human loneliness, and “Leave the past in the past”. Let's use love to touch, feel, and do not choose to live alone because around us there are many things to love. We cannot change the past, but we have the right to open ourselves to a happy future by the decisions of the present.
