Director Biography - Tebogo Witness Motshubele, Sandile Shezi

Tebogo Witness Motshubele is a South African filmmaker, born on 28 March 1991. His skills are not only around visuals but also audio as he has worked behind the scenes with many musicians. He is also the author of Selling A lie, which has been compared by many to the African version of Catch Me If You Can and the BBC series titled Hustle.

After working with film students as a writer, Motshubele gained an interest in filmmaking. He has been an active filmmaker since the year 2014 and officially produced his first film The Fabricator in 2019.

Motshubele was born in Rustenburg, the largest Platinum producing city in the world, but grew up in Vryburg which is part of the Kalahari desert. Motshubele is a descendant of the San people of this region from his father's side and claims his love for filmmaking comes from watching TV at his home and seeing many community members fill his home just to watch TV.

Motshubele has produced, San Afro, Afro Soulmate, Baasquiat SA, and many other artists, musically. This adds a significant feeling or touch of music in his films as he influences and produces music for his films. He constantly works with international producers through Soundcloud to compose film music for audio libraries.
