Alec James is a director, actor, screenwriter, producer, and songwriter from small-town South Carolina. Like most multi-hyphenates, Alec sees all his different titles as pieces of the same pie: storytelling. He believes that storytelling is ingrained in our DNA as a species, and that it's our responsibility to tell our stories. Having worked on both sides of the camera, Alec knows what it takes to make a film set operate smoothly and efficiently. As an actor, his most notable roles have been in the feature films Inheritance (2020) starring Lily Collins and Simon Pegg, and Crime Story (2021) starring Richard Dreyfuss. He's also written, produced, and starred in several short films, the most notable being his 2019 apocalyptic drama Where the Wicked Go. As a writer and director, he's currently in pre-production on multiple short films, as well as a sci-fi television pilot.
