I‘m 22 years old and recently completed my undergraduate studies at a Chinese university, majoring in TV Writing and Directing. Yet, my deepest passion resides in the realm of filmmaking. At present, I'm fully dedicated to both practical work and continuous learning to refine my skills in this captivating field, all while actively exploring opportunities to further my education in the UK.

I hold a steadfast belief that active participation in renowned film festivals will serve as a catalyst for advancing my expertise and drawing me nearer to my vision of creating more cinematic gems in the future. My ultimate aim is to harness the profound influence of cinema to enrich our world and provide people with a fresh, insightful perspective on life.

Director Statement

This is a science fiction short film that explores "existence, control and love". Traditional Chinese parents control the love and marriage of their children in the name of "love", just as the "possessiveness and control" produced by the AI boyfriend after the evolution of human emotions. Although love is selfish, real love should respect each other's choice. In the present and future of digitalization, we may wish to think about what is the meaning of human existence and what is true love.
What I want to express most, about feminism, is also the core of our film. There are many women who reach the marriagable age will be constantly urged by their parents to get married, such as "girls are not easy to marry when they are old", the view of Chinese parents is filled with the head of many women in order to fulfill their parents' wish to have grandchildren, which is the "love and control" of parents for their children. Jiang Ling, as the heroine of this film, her self-awakening actually reflects the awakening of "women", is reproduction the meaning of life? What's the difference between us and other creatures that can reproduce and even AI?
