Lost Sock Collection
Loss takes so many forms when it collides with time.
Lost Sock Collection is an experimental poetry film: a multi-sensory experience steeped in loss on every level and told through the lens of time, featuring the poetry of American poet Eliot Michl.
The layers of sounds in the piece are collected from locations around the world: bumblebees in middle America, waves crashing in Montenegro, a girl splashing in a shallow pool, hiking in Transylvania, the Prague Symphony warming up, a needle dropping on my father's favorite record. The highlight of the background audio—and from where the piece derives its name—is from a live performance art piece performed in Malaysia entitled, Lost Sock.
Wide-reaching filming locations include the verdant Carpathian Mountains from Balan to Brasov in Romania, the seas of Montenegro, and Thailand, the hills of central Italy, art in Paris, biking in the Netherlands, the Utah valley, and forests sprung from ancient riverbeds in America's heartland.
