Experiencing Interruptions?

Lost In Berlin

A man wakes up at an U-Bahn station, confronted by a stranger who asks, “Are you lost?” In the next moment, he finds himself in a park, where the same stranger asks him for a lighter. Curious, he steps through a mysterious door, plunging into a surreal dreamscape.

Moments later, he jumps back to reality and, from a distance, sees himself seated on a bench with the stranger, as if he never left. Stunned yet intrigued, he realizes that what felt like a long, strange journey happened only in his mind—just a fleeting moment lost in thought.

Director Statement

In "Lost in Berlin," I delve into the fragile boundaries between reality and imagination—a theme that resonates deeply with my experiences of disconnection in an increasingly chaotic world. This film is inspired by those moments when we find ourselves not just physically lost, but mentally and emotionally adrift.

Through surreal imagery and a dreamlike narrative, I aim to create a space where viewers can reflect on their own experiences of being “lost.” The use of mirrors and distorted environments serves to highlight the fragmented nature of our thoughts and memories. Each scene immerses the audience in a visual journey that mirrors the protagonist's internal struggle.

Stylistically, I pursue a modern aesthetic that blends experimental techniques with accessible storytelling. By juxtaposing the ordinary with the extraordinary, I hope to challenge perceptions and evoke a sense of wonder. My goal is to invite viewers into a dialogue about their own realities—what is genuine, and what is merely a reflection of our inner thoughts?

Ultimately, "Lost in Berlin" is not just a film about a man encountering a stranger; it is a meditation on the fleeting moments of introspection we all experience. I want the audience to walk away feeling a connection to the protagonist’s journey, prompting them to reflect on their own moments of loss and discovery.
