Director Statement

I am the writer and the director and starring in my new film “Monarchs”. It is a senior thesis short film for the CU Denver Film and Television Department. I am really excited to share the story about a couple starting a long-distance relationship. They just graduated high school and going down their separate paths. This story is relevant today, in this film, we try to continue artistic endeavors that embrace BIPOC representation in the best ways. In this film, we take a neorealist approach capturing the urban life here in our city of Denver. Some inspirations for this film are La Misma Luna, A Seperation, Waves.
