Featuring a range of intimate venues against the backdrop of Lorne’s unique coastal beauty, Lorne Film 2019 is a three-day celebration of independent Australian film for the people who make, watch and love Australian film, held from July 26 – 28, 2019.

LORNE FILM 2019 is calling for submissions of independent Australian feature films - and short films. LORNE FILM 2019 is searching primarily for independently funded local gems that best represent the Lorne Film charter: AUSTRALIAN. INDEPENDENT.

By 'independent' LORNE FILM 2019 will be giving preference (though not excluding) films that have received minimal or no production funding from government sources. Those films yet to secure distribution deals will also be given preference - although once again, this does not preclude those films that have secured a distributor.

Ultimately, LORNE FILM 2019 seeks to create an exciting, vibrant program that represents the spirit of adventure, innovation and distinctive storytelling that have been the hallmark of Australian film since the beginning.

LORNE SHORTS 2019

A short film competition open to filmmakers from across Australia.

Submissions will be accepted for films of up to 20 minutes in duration, with short-listed films featuring in the Lorne Film 2019 Program.

Judging for LORNE SHORTS 2019 will be live - with awards/prizes to be announced shortly.

Filmmakers are asked to provide either a weblink or DVD/blu-ray of their work once the application has been completed and the appropriate fee paid.

Screening format for the Lorne Theatre is DCP.

Screening format for the Cumberland Resort Auditorium and Sunset Lounge are blu-ray.

Thankful to have had one of my short films, 'Dear, Dissociate', selected for this festival. I didn't have any issues when trying to communicate with the organisers.
