Lorenzo Fattor, born on June 15, 1990, in Koper, Slovenia, is a versatile filmmaker with experience in directing, cinematography, drone piloting, and shooting with various tools such as dollies and gimbals, and occasionally enjoys screenwriting. He studied at "E.U. Nordio" in Trieste, Italy, but his passion for film began to flourish around 2014. Initially exploring short films, he quickly developed a deep interest in cinema and video communication.
His love for analog photography leads him to experiment with cameras from all eras, films, lenses, multiple exposures, and anything that can be used to transform an idea into an image.
After working as a freelance videomaker, Lorenzo launched his own production company in 2020. His work spans multiple genres, including documentaries, feature films, corporate videos, and music videos. His debut short film, Relicta (2016), gained recognition by winning second place at the "Istria Nobilissima" competition and was screened at the "Cinema dei Fabbri" in Trieste.
Lorenzo's notable projects include the feature film "Traveling Among Remote Melodies" (2020), created for the VIII Istrioto Festival, and the short film "Veita" (2020), which won "Best Screenplay" at the Filandart Film Festival in Vicenza and was selected for the "War and Peace" festival in Rome. In 2021, he directed his second feature film, "Rimi-tour", also for the Istrioto Festival, and the documentaries "La Batana Salvorina" and "Lume", in collaboration with the association "Savudrijska batana" and the Istrian Region.
His passion for travel has led him to shoot videos in a wide range of challenging conditions. He has explored the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, searching for the best shots amid the snow and mountain landscapes. In Japan, he traveled from Tokyo to Hokkaido, following snowboarders and capturing the energy of winter sports. Climbing the peaks of Norway, he filmed the spectacular nature of the fjords, creating breathtaking footage that highlights the wild beauty of the Nordic landscape.
His short film "Road to Jirgaland" was selected as a semifinalist at the Serbest International Film Festival (SIFF) in Chișinău (Moldavia), and was selected and screened at the Rossland Mountain Film Festival in Canada, sharing the evening with numerous works produced by famous outdoor brands such as Salomon and North Face. The short is also included among the finalists at the Beausoleil Côte d'Azur International FICTS Festival du Cinéma Sportif, and in official selection at ISTANBUL SPORTS FILM FESTIVAL.
Last but not least, it won the award for Best Sport/Inspirational Short at the Reale Film Festival in Milan (Italy).
Lorenzo's travel experiences have not only enriched his professional skills but also fueled his creativity and pursuit of new cinematic challenges.
At the moment, his aspiration is to improve his skills in working under extreme conditions. His ideal project would be a documentary, perhaps far from home, maybe on top of a mountain.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various cultural and state institutions, private companies, and artistic groups. His contributions to the music industry include work as a videographer, editor, and creative collaborator.
He was a jury member for two years at the Italian Film Festival in Rovinj, where he held cinematography workshops for high school students.
Beyond filmmaking, Lorenzo is passionate about music, art history, philosophy, and outdoor sports. He also serves on the Rijeka Comites, representing the Italian community in Croatia.
