Experiencing Interruptions?

Longing to return

This project/voyage/flight collects the voices and virtual drawings of second-grade children from a public school in Bogotá, Colombia.
Children return symbolically to the place that shelters on their walls and corridors, many of the memories of their lives, the school, which is now empty and desolate due to the pandemic. comes alive for one night. The drawings run through the school and meet each other, share and play until dawn, when the sunlight vanishes its presence.

Director Statement

From the distance we played to draw what we dreamed of, we found ourselves within the images we created. Their school became an architectural ghost containing memories, the presence of the body, the human trace of the inhabited past remains marked in those spaces, and although it is not yet possible to return in person, the virtual presence of the body is the closest thing we have as a society to a real gathering in the midst of the pandemic.
